Day 3 - June 12th, 2015
Woke up this morning finding out we weren't alone anymore. 2 young men from Italy were staying in the other private room. Very nice people. We got started early. Went and had some café glacé or iced coffee. We found croissants at Kouign Amann (for Erica) and they gave me a ridiculously sized box for them. I also ordered something that tasted like a fruit topped soft pecan sandie pastry. So tasty! We get to the boulangerie Hof Kelston andordered two chocolate babka. When we ordered two, the clerk looked at us funny, so I had a feeling this was going to be either crazy big or crazy small. Oh my God, beyond huge. We ate 3/4ths of the first one then we packed the other in our pack. Decided to go to Buck 15 but when we got there, they were closed for renovations. We walked down the street to Burgundy Lion. We drank some beers and each had a Scottish egg. What an interesting concept for food but delicious! . After the bar, we walked to Marché Atwater and I bought Québec farm-fresh strawberries, blueberries and raspberries. They were the best I have ever tasted and the freshest I have ever tasted. We took the metro to the Marché Jean-Talon and found the street stand that sells unpasteurized goat cheese. It was so good! It's Illegal to have this or sell this in the United States. I find this dumb because it's so good. I know, I know, food safety.
It was nearly 2 p.m. We decided to finish our vacation and board the 747 bus to the airport. Glad we did when we did because we didn't get to the airport till 4:20. Rushed through Security and Customs. We got to the terminal early so we can relax. We also had poutine in the airport, not as good as all the other poutines we had, but it was good.Flight had moderate turbulence but this trip was amazing. So glad that I got to share it with JJ.
