Strolling along Lake Michigan
On the way to Chicago, I noticed fields upon fields of baby corn. I can just imagine that soon it would be a wall of corn lining the highway.
The first destination was the Adler Planetarium. That building was open to the public in 1930. It is know for being United States' first planetarium.
All the exhibits were really interesting and it reminded me of our local attraction, Kennedy Space Center. My favorite exhibit was the Gemini XII. One of its goals was to show that astronauts can effectively work outside their spacecraft.
I loved their gift shop. I saw a shirt that said "Welcome to the dork side, we have Pi." I found a shot glass saying "Pluto 1930-2006 Revolve in Peace". I freaked out and totally bought the shot glass.
The Shedd Aquarium was originally the next destination but the line to get in was around the block.
Next up was the Field Museum.
It's kind of expensive but it was so worth it! I become 5 years old again when I saw Sue the most complete T-Rex, then again at the Stegosaurus and the Triceratops and the Parasaurolophus,.... ok.... ALL the dinosaurs, prehistoric animals ...mammoths .....fine .....EVERYTHING. I just stopped at each one and read all about them.
Did you know that our planet has already gone through 6 Mass Extinctions? I actually think because of our actions of the Human Race, we started another. Life will find another way, probably after us. Walked through all the animal and Human History exhibits. This was a fantastic museum and I would love to go again!
Since it was getting close to 5, my last place would have to wait till the next day I get to go in the city. I did catch a hot dog vendor and bought myself a Chicago Dog. Different but tasty!

Soldier Field was nearby. It opened in 1924 and is best known for being the home of the Chicago Bears.
Visited Wrigley Field. Built in 1924, it is the oldest park in the national league but it is the second oldest ball park in the majors. Fenway is the oldest.
Explored more of the city. Ran across the famous bar Murphy's Bleachers. Also, Navy Pier reminded me of the Santa Monica Pier in Cali.
