National Beer Day at Florida Beer Company
I was at my favorite local bar one day and I happened upon Caribé Key Lime Cider. I loved its sweetness mixed with that tart key lime bite. I gingerly rolled the bottle over my palm to look at where it was made. I knew it was 'local' but local in Florida can feel like a day trip away. Turns out that the cider is from Florida Beer Company, located in Cape Canaveral.
Now, that's more like it! From where I live, it's only about 30 miles away. I put the location in the 'locations I need to visit soon' list.
National Beer Day came along and I thought it was the perfect time to grab J.J. and head on over there. Also, I read that FM Pizza Oven was going to be there. It's a food truck that has a wood stove in the back.
We got there in about an hour. South on 95, then East, just past the harbor for all the cruise ships.
We stepped inside the tap room and grabbed some stools. This place is big! Along the wall, they have a glass wall where you can see where they make the beer. They have supersized games and a few comfy couches to relax.
We ordered a flight each. I picked a variety of different kind of ciders and beers.
I liked that they had choices to extend your flight. The beverage choices I made were great! J.J. ordered the Caribé Blood Orange Cider and it turns out that I find it better than the Key Lime Cider.
J.J. ordered a pizza from outside. It was delicious!
Even the crust was spot on! I highly recommend FM Pizza Oven. They're based in Melbourne.
After we were stuffed and enjoyed our flights, we wanted to purchase some of their beers to bring home. They offer pick your own 6 packs or if you had a favorite, you can pick up a 6 pack of just that.
