Hiking the Doris Leeper Trails
If you're looking for somewhere new to hike and want it to have some scenic view at the end to enjoy, look no further than Doris Leeper Spruce Creek Preserve . The preserve has many entrances which offer different amenities but the one I visit is the Martin Dairy Road entrance. After taking a side road then driving over a bumpy dirt road, you get to the preserve.
This preserve offers a variety of great paths. A few paths for hiking and mountain biking and there's also a path for equestrian riders. The paths are lightly trafficked. During my last hike, I came across a few mountain bikers and a couple riding horses.
This the scenic view at the end of the trail. I am always disappointed if I'm hiking miles and there's no nice view at the end or even along the way. This one doesn't disappoint.
Now, for the more adventurous, at your own risk types, there is a little path that goes past the boundary. It has a steep and sandy decline that leads down to the water, revealing a small beach.
Now that I think about it, I must state the obvious. There are creatures that like to eat people in Florida waters. Whether it's gators or sharks, just assume there's teeth in the waters.
